Stuff detox

Updated: Feb 21, 2022

For those of us who have ADHd, not being able to find something important can lead to a mini-meltdown. Try to find some time to cull and reorganise your stuff. Only keep what you use and really love. Keeping stuff for a rainy day means you live in the past and are not ready to embrace what life may bring. People with ADHD need to be careful of drawers and cupboards they never use as stuff builds up that you become completely unaware of.

Have a place for everything, and design spaces that you'll enjoy using. You'll keep anxiety about stuff at bay. Be consistent and clean out cupboards regularly. Be tough! If you haven't used something in the last few months or worn it, donate it or throw it out. Ask for vouchers as gifts from the people who keep giving crappy birthday or Xmas gifts. It will probably be a relief for them too!
