Mindfulness when you're not neurotypical which is those of us with ADHD or another form of neurodivergence are, is a precious commodity. Being anxious is the opposite of mindfulness. If you have a racy head due to ADHD or anxiety the last thing you want to hear is to be mindful. It sounds impossible. Instead I am going to suggest you develop a mindfulness account. By engaging in playful activities, exercise you enjoy, going to green spaces, meditation, connection with others, spending time with a pet or journaling you deposit small pieces of mindfulness into your account. For the days when you really need it, you'll be so glad you did. It is not always easy to wake up and go walking or journal or any of the activities I have recommended. But if you do, you'll be happy you did on the days when you need to take a mindfulness withdrawal.
